History of Pigeon Forge

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has a rich history as a settlement along the Little Pigeon River. It saw industrial development with mills and later became a popular tourist destination after the establishment of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The opening of Goldrush Junction (later known as Dollywood) in the 1960s further fueled its growth as a tourist hub. Today, Pigeon Forge offers a wide range of attractions, including amusement parks, music shows, museums, and outdoor activities, while still preserving its cultural heritage.
