History
Some form of the aquarium has been around since 1873. The aquarium came to Baltimore in 1978 (National Aquarium). The Congress granted the aquarium the title of “national” in 1878 (National Aquarium). The new National Aquarium, which was now located ion Baltimore, was opened to the public in 1981 (National Aquarium). Currently the aquarium is trying to bring more awareness to the problems in the world that effect the animals and are trying to educate in order to bring awareness to them (National Aquarium).
What happens here?
At the Aquarium, they are working to restore the reefs in America (National Aquarium). They also help animals through rehabilitation when they have been injured (National Aquarium). They are also educational because when you are there, you can join tours or walk around and look at the signs they have posted about the creatures.
Why should people go?
This is an attractive attraction because of the variety of animals and lessons. They have sea creatures ranging from small fish to dolphins and sharks. It is interesting to go and learn more about animals that you are not able to encounter everyday. Also, it is great for families to learn what they can do to help the animals.
