Vacation Economy

The Outer Banks has a thriving tourism industry. While many people do live there year-round, a substantial number of people rent their properties out to tourists. The houses can range from sprawling mansions to smaller condominiums. This makes it so anyone, no matter the size of their group, can find somewhere to rent and vacation at.

Tourism is a crucial pillar of the local economy. Many businesses employ foreign workers on visas due to the spike in demand for services. The businesses simply do not have enough local manpower to sustain themselves throughout the summer months.
