San Juan, Puerto Rico

Destination #4: San Juan, Puerto Rico

Our next destination was San Juan, Puerto Rico. When first getting off the ship, my family and I decided to walk to the other side of the island where the Castillo San Felipe del Morro is located, a prominent fort in San Juan used for protection against sea attacks around 1790. While inside the fort, there were many plaques about different history regarding the fort and the events that took place within. When leaving we passed amazing ocean views as well as passed many local iguanas looking for the best place to sun bathe. On our walk back, we stopped at some local shops that sold a collection of items from fans, to dominos, to beach hats. San Juan is rich in history and culture and was the most educational but fun part of our trip.

To Do:

  • Shop at local shops filled with art and jewelry
  • Take in the breath taking sights of the city and the historical architecture
