Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas

Destination #2: Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas

Great Stirrup Cay was one of the best spots we visited on our trip. This island is owned by NCL which means our food package as well as drink packages were all transferred to the island for us to use, making everything included in our trip.  The weather was perfect and it wasn’t too crowded since only  NCL guests could be on the island and only one ship at a time. This allowed us plenty of room to find seats as well as space in the water to float around at our leisure. Make sure to bring a pair of snorkels to see the amazing wildlife in the water from puffer fish to sea turtles! They also had an area where NCL staff hosted games ranging from hula hoop competitions to obstacle challenges. The best part was whenever you had enough of the island, you were able to get back on the charter back onto the ship, which was very efficient and fast.

To Do:

  • Zip-line across the crystal blue water and beautiful beaches
  • Offer jet ski rentals as well as other water active rentals
  • Offers snorkel rentals to observe the wildlife under the water
  • Includes food and drink package from the ship which includes bar drinks as well as the buffet on the island
  • Swimming with pigs!

Fun Facts:

  • The island is entirely owned by NCL allowing all packages to be accommodated as well as receiving the top assistance from their staff on and off the island
  • Home to a coconut plantation
  • $25 million of facilities built by NCL’s team right on the island
  • Average temperature all year round is around 77 degrees, the warmest months being from May to October
  • Has an underwater sculpture garden included in some snorkel rentals
