The 16th place team in Ligue 1 and the winner of the tier 2 division “Ligue 2” play promotion playoffs. Playoffs is a two-legged tie, and the winner is decided by aggregate score. The first leg is played the home stadium of the Ligue 2 club, and the second leg is played at the home stadium of the Ligue 1 club.
