The Bundesliga is the professional soccer league at the top of Germany. The league consists of 18 clubs which operates on a system of promotion and relegation. Games are usually played on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. All of the clubs in the Bundesliga clubs take part in the DFB-Pokal cub as well as the winner of the Bundesliga qualifies for the DFL-Super cup.
Point System:
- A win gives you three points.
- A draw gives you one point.
- You receive no points for a loss.
The team with the greatest number of points at the end of the season are awarded the Bundesliga title and is crowned the best team in Germany. Since the start of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich has won 32 of 60 titles as well as the last eleven seasons which is the European record.
The bottom 2 teams from the Bundesliga swapped with the best two teams from Bundesliga 2, while there’s a playoff between the 16th-best Bundesliga team and the 3rd-place Bundesliga 2 team. Those teams play a two-game series and the winner, either straight up or on aggregate, claims their place in the Bundesliga the following year.
