My Experience as a Golfer

Background:

I have even playing golf for almost 9 years now, but really started taking it seriously about 6 years ago. When I was younger I always thought of golf as being a fun and relaxing sport; every time I went out to play it also created so many memories that will last forever with my friends and family. I liked to play with my family and friends but I never took it too seriously until I got to high school in 2016. When I first started high school, the only team I was planning on trying out for was the lacrosse team until I heard that there was a golf program at my school as well. Immediately, I talked to my friends and we agreed to all play together; which was one of the best decisions we ever made as it all brought us closer together as well as got us even more invested into an awesome sport.

High School Experience:

In the 9th grade, I tried out and made the varsity team along with all of my friends. We started our first day of practice and right from the start I knew it was going to be an awesome season. We met our coach who was a certified pro, meaning that he was technically a pro under PGA standards. He was the person who really excelled my game to another level. He taught me how to keep my shot consistent and really understand how to aim the ball how I really wanted. From every year on, it was nothing but an awesome experience. I got to play an expensive sport, for free every single day. We were able to go to practice putting, go to the driving range, and even play actual golf rounds at our home course called Diamond Ridge in Baltimore County. During my senior year, I made it to the county championships which consisted of the top 60 players from schools all around the county competing to see whole the best golfer in the county was. Although I didn’t win, it was such an awesome experience and I’m glad I was able to be a part of it.

Now:

Ever since high school ended, I have been trying to get out on the course for fun with friends because it is just a great experience every time I go out. I don’t play competitively anymore, but I do like to get out at least once a week when the weather is nice. It is a game that allows me to build great relationships, relax, have fun, and enjoy the great pleasure the golf course brings.
