There are so many aspects of keeping a freshwater aquarium, but arguably one of the most creative aspects of the hobby is aquascaping.

Aquascaping includes the live plants and hardscape that go into creating an aquarium that looks realistic to whatever natural environment the hobbyist is trying to mimic. Though most aquascapes have natural influence, they often intertwine elements that are ethereal and fantasy-like.

Live plants are simply the plants that go into the scape, while the hardscape includes things like sand, gravel, rocks or stones, driftwood, or vines. Aquascaping tools usually include a variety of straight, curved, and angled scissors, tweezers, and flat spades to aid in the creation and maintenance of the scape.
