Lets talk about PG County, an area that rose to prominence and will continue to strive to maintain excellence
On April 23 1696, Street George’s Day, the General Assembly passed an act creating Prince George’s County out of the land in Calvert and Charles Counties. The County has the name of Prince George of Denmark, the spouse of Princess Anne, the heir apparent to the English throne.
A portion of Prince George’s County was divided up in 1748 to create Frederick County. Following this, Frederick County was divided into what are now known as Allegany, Garrett, Montgomery, and Washington counties. A portion of Prince George’s County was given up in 1791 to create the District of Columbia, now known as Washington, DC. Upper Marlboro, Maryland serves as the county seat. The Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Corridor includes the county.
