Hello bloggers! Meet Zola, a 4month old Pitbull who is full of energy. I created this blog to track my progress of training my puppy, also to keep memories of her while she’s a troublemaker.
My main goal is to get her house-trained. She does have her good days where she doesn’t make messes inside, but my goal is to keep her on a consistent schedule to encourage outdoor potty use. She is a very hyper puppy, who consistently jumps on the couch and on guests trying to show her definition of love, so it would be ideal to train her to calm down too. I also want to get her fully potty trained, to no longer use the bathroom indoors and to notify us when she needs to go out.
I know it seems a bit drastic, but I have faith in my girl. She is a good listener (when she wants to be) and I think she can easily learn in 7 weeks. So far she has made much more progress since when she was first adopted. We have learned her bathroom cues, which is her jumping on us trying to let us know that she needs to go out.
This is week 1, and to be quite honest I was a bit afraid of how things are going. This morning after our regular walk, she pooped indoors, but she knew she was wrong and immediately ran in her cage. I learned to communicate to her when she’s in the wrong and to not immediately spank her for bad behavior.
I hope that my fellow dog parent readers can use the tips I have found the most helpful, and apply them to their life as well. I plan to include many tips and tricks to help our pups ! From toys, to treat options, I am your one stop shop, we’re in this together!
