Below are some popular foods that are eaten in Costa Rica.

 

Ceviche:

Ceviche is a seafood dish that is marinated in lime juice and herbs like cilantro. The lime juice will cooked the seafood (which is often some type of white fish or shrimp) and vegetables like minced onion, garlic, and tomatoes are mixed in. This meal is extremely refreshing, yet filling because the seafood provides protein.

Rondón

Rondon is a seafood and coconut stew. It usually is made with leftover foods/ingredients that are left by the end of the week, but its ingredients often include coconut milk, herbs, spices, conch, mussels, plantains, and more. The dish is served with a side of coconut rice and breadfruit.
