Manuel Antonio is a small town that’s known for its national park. The Manuel Antonio National Park offers tours and guides that highlight the biodiversity of the country. Sloths, toucans, and monkeys are some of the animals that you’ll pass by, and there are beautiful beaches right next to the national park.

La Fortuna:
La Fortuna is a small town that’s located at the base of Arenal Volcano. Just about 3 hours northwest of San Jose, La Fortuna is known for its quaint charm and natural beauty. The La Fortuna Waterfall is one example of its environmental attractions, as well as the Arenal Volcano.

San Jose:
San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and has the busiest night life. The city offers museums, hotels, theaters, restaurants, and more. It’s the largest city in Costa Rica and offers a lot of activities. As a result of the grand infrastructure, San Jose doesn’t share as close of a connection to nature like other towns. However, it’s a great location to learn about Costa Rican culture and get involved with the city life.

Tamarindo:
Tamarindo has grown in size due to tourism. In a way, it’s a smaller scale of San Jose, yet it’s located right on the Pacific Coast. Known for its beaches and diverse marine life, Tamarindo offers a lot of aquatic activities like snorkeling and paddle-boarding. This is a great destination for first-time visitors.
