4th of July Parade

  • Believed to be one of the oldest Independence Day celebrations along the East Coast.
  • Has been occurring for the past 133 years.
  • Includes a parade that goes through the main roads in Takoma Park, a fireworks display at the local middle school, and several other celebrations.
  • The parade begins at 10 am.
  • Growing up the parade always set up and passed by our house. As children, my siblings and I would sell lemonade to citizens and those participating in the parade.
