Notre Dame Cathedral

The Notre Dame Cathedral was built from 1877 to1883 at the heart of the City.  It is in the neo-Romanesque style, and its name was from the Virgin Mary. The cathedral is covered in devotional tablets and pretty stained glass windows, and it also has 40-meter towers topped with impressive iron spires.

Central Post Office

The Central Post Office was designed by Gustave Eiffel, who also designed the Eiffel Tower. It was built in 1886 with the Gothic style, and when you go inside, you will see a huge domed roof and grand walls. They are adorned with maps from the colonial period. Further, the Central Post Office has a requisite portrait of Ho Chi Minh, the founding father of modern Vietnam.

The War Remnants Museum

The War Remnants Museum is one of the most moving sights in Ho Chi Minh City. When you visit here, you will learn more about the atrocities of the Vietnam War. It is also one of the most well-known museums in Vietnam, with more than half of a million people visiting here per year. The museum also has different old military vehicles, such as Huey helicopters, attack bombers, and M48 Patton tanks. Besides, you can find personal memorabilia of the war’s victims and old photographs.

Reunification Palace

The Reunification Palace used to be the home of the South Vietnam President during the Vietnam War. Moreover, it is where the North Vietnamese invaded in 1975, and Ho Chi Minh City surrendered. The building might have completed around 1966, and if you visit, you will have a chance to learn about the cultural and historical significance of this monument to the Vietnam War.

Bonsai River Cruise

With the Bonsai River Cruise, you will have a chance to take in the city from the vantage point of the water and have an elegant cruise dining, which is a buffet dinner complete with live music. In fact, the boat is a traditional dragon boat from the 19th century.

Cao Dai Temple

Cao Dai Temples are in different places in Vietnam, and the one in Saigon took around 20 years to build and complete in 1956. When you visit the temple, you will find some ornately carved dragons.  However, the real draw is the mix of religious statues, including the effigies of Christ, Brahman, and Buddha.

Giac Lam Pagoda

Giac Lam Pagoda is the oldest temple in Ho Chi Minh City as it has been there since 1744, with the name’s meaning is ‘Feel the Woods Temple.’  The sacred Bodhi tree in Buddhism is at the temple entrance and was a gift from a visiting monk from Sri Lanka in 1953. Besides, Giac Lam Pagoda is in a pretty garden so that you can walk around the grounds to see the picturesque architecture and take in the serene atmosphere.
