Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the most widely used form of psychotherapy that focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. By identifying and challenging distorted thinking, individuals can learn practical strategies to manage problems, improve mood, and develop healthier coping skills. One exercise from CBT is a weekly inventory of a behavior,  say getting negative thoughts down from 50 a week to anything from 49-25 times a week and writing it down. CBT focuses on a quantifiable difference that can be shown to the client and therapist.
