Poodles come in five different size variations. Teacup Poodles, Toy Poodles, Miniature Poodles, Moyen Poodles and Standard Poodles.
A teacup poodle is the smallest poodle you will find. They’re very laid back dogs and only grow as big as 8 inches. Teacup poodles only weigh about 2-3 pounds.
The second smallest poodle is the toy poodle, they are no larger than 10 inches, weighing around 5-9 pounds. They’re definitely more calm compared to the larger poodles. Very laid back and low energy, also when it comes to the smaller breeds no need to worry about excessive barking.
Next, a miniature poodle. Miniature poodles at there full grown size should be 15 inches or smaller, weighing around 30 pounds. They have more energy than toy poodles and require more attention.
Next is the Moyen poodle, which stands for “medium” in french. They can grow as big as 15-20 inches, weighing around 15-35 pounds. They’re very similar to standard poodles.
Lastly we have standard poodles. Standard poodles can grow to be larger than 15-20 inches, weighing around 45-70 pounds. They’re extremely active dogs with high energy. Attentive owners is very important for standard poodles.
