Are Poodles show dogs?

Poodles are huge show dogs!! Ever since the 17th century poodles have been competing as show dogs. They are commonly seen as show dogs because of their elegant appearance, intelligence, and trainability. Over time, breeders began to focus on developing the Poodle’s distinctive appearance, which included their signature “pom-poms” on their joints and distinctive haircuts. This focus on appearance eventually led to Poodles being shown in dog shows, where judges evaluate the dogs against breed standards for appearance, temperament, and other factors. Poodles are particularly well-suited to showing because they are highly trainable and responsive to their handlers. They are also known for their poise and grace, which makes them a natural fit for the show ring.
