Depending on on where you live in comparison to Anna Maria, there are a few options for transportation to get there such as:

Airports:
- Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SQR) is a medium sized airport just 30 minutes away from the island. Many different airlines fly in and out, including Southwest, American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue and many others. Once landing, the airport has options for transportation to the island. These forms of ground transportation are car rental, lyft/uber, public bus transit, and shuttle services. Due to the smaller size of the airport, navigating to security, terminals and baggage claim are fairly easy to navigate.
- Tampa International Airport (TPA) is a large airport about 1.5 hours away depending on traffic. The downside to flying into Tampa is that it is a much further drive to get to Anna Maria, however flights tend to be cheaper. Compared to the Sarasota Airport, the options for airlines is much more prominent, from Southwest to Delta and so many others. This large airport offers 34 restaurants, 45 shops and 5 parking lots. Once landing, the airport has options for transportation to the island. These forms of ground transportation are car rental, lyft/uber, public bus transit, and shuttle services.
- St.Pete-Clearwater International Airport is a small airport with one main terminal about 1 hour away from Anna Maria. There are much fewer options on what airline to fly in and out of due to the smaller size. Airlines include Porter, Frontier, Spirit, American, JetBlue, and Delta. Once landing, the airport has options for transportation to the island. These forms of ground transportation are car rental, lyft/uber, public bus transit, and shuttle services. Note: St. Pete-Clearwater Airport is currently undergoing construction which may alter navigation of the airport.
Train:
Most common auto Train is from Washington, D.C. to Orlando where you can load your automobile. From Orlando, there would be about a 2 hour drive to Anna Maria depending on traffic.
Bus/Trolley:
Island Trolley starting from Coquina Beach on the southern tip in Bradenton Beach up to the City Pier in the City of Anna Maria on the northern end of the island on a daily basis. Trolley that is free of charge and air-conditioned, running on most holidays.
