At Towson University the Biology major is offered in separate concentrations to leave room for students to be able to select which path they would prefer in order to reach the career they would like to do. There are 4 concentrations in all, starting with:

- Cell and Molecular Biology: This concentration gives knowledge on advanced studies in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, etc.
- Functional Biology of Animals: This concentration is structured in order to give knowledge on animal physiology needed for medical, dental, veterinary, anatomy and physiology programs.
- Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation: This concentration gets you ready for more advanced studying of the topics of botany, zoology, conservation biology or ecology, and career advancement in environmental education, government environmental regulatory agencies, and the private sector.
- Biology Secondary Education: This concentration prepares you to be a teacher of biology in the grades of 7-12.
They also offer the option to major in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry & Bioinformatics (MB3) which provides preparation in the topics of biochemistry, bioinformatics, pharmacy, biophysics, biotechnology, cell biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, or molecular biology.
