“Exercise is good for you.”, “Exercise gives you muscles.”, “Exercise makes you strong.”. These are some things you’ve probably heard about exercise your whole life. But do you know of the more specific benefits of exercise?
Personally, I’m not someone who would be considered physically fit. However, being an exercise science major, I know the benefits of exercise. I do hit the gym from time to time, but most of my physical activity does not come from the gym.
Benefits of exercise:
- Stress reliever
- Helps with cognitive function
- Slows down aging
- Healthy heart
- Assists in fat loss
- Helps with anxiety/depression
- Releases dopamine
I’m not the biggest fan of the gym, but it is considered an effective way to see results/benefits
Other ways include:
- 10,000 steps a day
- Working a hands-on/on-your-feet job
- Playing a sport
- Riding your bike
- Staying active throughout the day
Be consistent in these and you will see the results.
