These days a lot of teenagers and young adults are struggling with participating in things that aren’t good for their health. Things such as too much screen time, sleeping in bed all day, vaping/smoking, and drug/alcohol abuse are examples of things that don’t contribute to a wellness lifestyle.
We know breaking a bad habit isn’t easy, but here are some suggestions on how to quit one.
- Figure out what triggers you. If you know being around people who vape will influence you to vape, don’t be around people who vape.
- Ask yourself why. Why do you find relief in your habits? Why does [insert bad habit] help you cope with your stressors?
- Figure out other ways to cope with your stressors. Find a hobby. Something that makes you happy.
- If it’s something you can quit for 30 days, try it. See how you feel after the 30 days and use motivation to continue. Start small.
- Remember that mistakes happen, and you may slip up. Don’t beat yourself up.
- Grab an accountability partner. Find someone who has the same problem as you, and support each other.
be mindful of your journey. 😉
