To begin, music is a universal language. Specifically, jazz is a language with multiple identities. Jazz ultimately brings people together through shared experiences. This can look like listening, performing, and appreciating music as a collective. The idea behind communal gatherings regardless of quantity creates a bond like connection between all parties of engagement. Especially with the variety of styles, the fusion evolvement has combined various musical traditions and styles to representer of the diversity present in our world. Ultimately, this creates a sense of inclusivity. Especially on the musician aspect, communication is enacted through their instruments by spontaneously creating music together. Playing at events together such as festivals, concerts, clubs, recitals etc., serves as gathering locations for a celebration of their shared passion for music. A sense of social interaction is also made by networking, building friendships and mentorship initiatives.
