The History of Volleyball

Origin:

The sport of Volleyball was initially created in 1895 by William G. Morgan, in Massachusetts. Businessmen found the new sport of basketball too vigorous so volleyball was designed to accommodate that and a totally different sport was invented. Volleyball was originally called “mintonette” by the creator. But due to the volleying nature of the sport, a professor at Springfield College in Massachusetts introduced the name of volleyball.History of Volleyball
