Ethiopia’s Culture

Ethiopian culture is rich and diverse, with a history dating back thousands of years. The country contains over 80 different ethnic groups, each with their own distinct traditions, customs, and dialects, which is what makes it so special! Music is an important part of the culture, with distinct forms such as Tigrigna, Amharic, and Oromo. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is the country’s leading religion, and religious festivals and celebrations such as Timkat and Meskel are extensively observed. Ethiopians have a strong craft culture, with talented artisans making traditional handicrafts such as woven baskets, ceramics, and jewelry.
