My life as a Hockey Player

For the second a story I’m going to talk about how I fell in love with hockey. When I was little, I would always go watch my cousins games and I knew at so little that it was for me. I took skating lessons when I was about 8, then hockey lessons at 9. I played all the way through high school on many travel teams and on my Varsity high school team. Now, I play D1 hockey here at Towson University. GO TIGERS! I have had many life changing hockey moments in life, but none compare to a certain one. When I was in 7th grade, my Uncle David got invited to a party with only 30 guests. However, each guest had a plus 2. So, my Uncle David brought me and my cousin Bryan. The party was for members of the Breitling Watch company and it was held at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons. I had no idea what was happening. It was all a surprise. We arrived and had Hors D’oeuvres and looked at the watches on display. About 20 minutes of sitting around, my cousin taps me on the shoulder and says, “turn around”. I turn around and see The Great One. Wayne Gretzky. Argued as the Greatest Athlete of ALL TIME. Greatest of all sports, especially Hockey. I had officially met my idol. I had butterflies in my stomach and no words come to my mouth because I was so star struck.  He was the coolest guy too. Taking this picture satisfied all of my hockey desires. I felt like the coolest person on earth. My hockey morale increased significantly after this. This is really when I knew I fell in love with the game. Easily one of the coolest moments of my life.
