Tip#1
Be consistent: Use the same vocal commands, hand motion, and tone will help the dog learn faster. Inconsistencies will make it harder for the dog to learn and understand, so being constant with what you are doing is very important when it comes to training your dog
How to Train A dog to sit
- Have your dog in a standing position with a treat in your hand.
- Take the treat near the dogs nose and move the treat so the dog follows the treat.
- Put the treat to the ground and reward dog with the treat if the dog sits.
- If the dog does not sit, then repeat the steps until the dog eventually sits and reward the dog with the treat.
- Repeat until the dog keeps on sitting with the treat.
- After the dog is regularly sitting, you can then add a command. Say a cue such as “sit” then proceed to give the dog a treat if they sit.
- Keep on practicing until the dog fully understands the concept and practice in short, but regular sessions.
