West Lafayette is a small village located in Ohio. It is in the middle of Coshocton and Newcomerstown which are two other small towns in Ohio. West Lafayette is part of a county called Coshocton. It was platted in 1850 by Robert Shaw and William Wheeler. This village only consisted of 13 lots back then, now it covers one square mile and 10 miles of streets. The village was built on a plain in the Tuscarawas River valley. It has many cornfields and is rural community. The population is only 2,443 and is still growing daily. There are currently 1,073 homes in this village that consist of homes built in the 1960s. In 2019, the community faced a flash flooding that led the community to a whole new aspect of working as a team. The village received 3 feet of rain within 8 hours leading to evacuation of homes, homes being destroyed, schools being flooded, road closures for days, and the loss of the life of farm animals and crops.
