Leche Flan (Filipino Custard) Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 10 pieces of eggs
  • condensed milk
  • 1 cup of fresh milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Cooking Directions:

  1. Separate all the eggs from the egg white (only egg yolk will be used)
  2. Place the egg yolk in a big bowl then beat them with an egg beater or fork
  3. Add in the condensed milk and mix accordingly
  4. Pour in the fresh milk and vanilla extract
  5. Put a mold for the leche flan on top of the stove and put the heat on low
  6. Put the granulated sugar on the mold and mix the sugar until it is liquid with a light brown color (caramel)
  7. Spread the caramel evenly on the mold
  8. Wait 5 minutes, then add the egg yolk and milk mixture on the mold
  9. Cover the top of the mold with aluminum foil
  10. Steam the mold for 30-35 minutes
  11. After steaming, let the mold cool down and then refrigerate
  12. Serve and enjoy your leche flan!
