How To Build A Computer

Building a PC may be a daunting task but in these few steps you can build one for yourself.

  1. Get prepared
    • Layout all of the tools that you may need to complete the building the computer.
      • These items are
        1. Screwdriver
        2. Motherboard manual
        3. Thermal Paste
        4. Insulation USB (for Windows)
  2. Installing the CPU
    1. Remove the plastic covering and then release the metal tension lever
    2. carefully remove the CPU from the packaging
    3. Find the triangle and line it up with the triangle on the CPU socket
    4. Place the UPU into the socket and double check if it is correctly
    5. tale the metal tensioner and lower it down so the CPU is locked in place
  3. Installing the CPU Cooler
    1. On top of the CPU put a pea sized dot of thermal past onto the center of the CPU
    2. In the back of the board find the correct mounting bracket and screws for you CPU (look at cooler Manuel)
    3. Then take the CPU cooler and lower it on these screws
    4. Then screw it down so is just a bit tight
    5. Take the cables that need to be plugs in and do so
      • like the fan or pump cables
  4. Installing the RAM
    1. Take it out of the package and line up the notch of the sticks of ram on the slot on the motherboard
    2. Pushdown until you hear a click
  5. Installing an SSD(M.2 one in this case)
    1. Refer to motherboard Manuel where the m.2 SSD slot is
    2. Take the SSD and line it up with the slot then screw it down
      • (optional) put cover back on after removing protective film
  6. Putting the motherboard in the case
    1. Make sure you have standoff in the correct places that line up with you motherboard
    2. If there is an Io shield to install do that my pushing it into the case in the correct spot
      • (you may need need to do this as some come with to on the mothered itself)
    3. Then take the motherboard and put it into the case by pressing the board against the IO shield
    4. Take screws and screw them into the holes in the board (this is where the standoffs are)(make sure they are there and not hitting the back of your motherboard)
  7. Installing the power supply
    1. If using a modular power supply plug in the cables to the power supply.
    2. Then take the PSU and insert it into the case and rote the cables to the appropriate places.
  8. Installing a HDD
    1. Screw the HDD into the caddy and insert it into the case
    2. Then plug power and data cables into the HDD
  9. Installing the Graphics Card
    1. Take off the case covers on the back of the case
    2. Line up the GPU with the top most slot and insert it completely
    3. Plug the power cables into the GPU
  10. Plugin in all of the cables
    1. Plug in the power cables
    2. Plug in front IO
  11. Installing The OS
    1. Use the installation media to install the OS by inserting the USB into the computer and following the prompts to install the OS
