  • Famous People
    • While Selena isn’t Mexican (but rather Mexican-American born in Texas) she is still one of first people many think of when they think of famous Latin Americans. She was a popular singer who was famous for her “Tejano” music and her fashion. I highly recommend listening to some of her music. Tragically however she was murdered on March 31st, 1995, at the age of 23.
    • Frida Kahlo is a well-known artist in Mexico and beyond and who has become a symbol of feminism in Mexico as some of her paintings go into how she feels trapped by Mexico’s very patriarchal society.
