The food culture is just as vibrant and diverse as the people and culture itself.

Each region has its own specialty dishes that must be tried out. Ill tell you about some of these dishes

Pozole (Posole)

Pozole (also posole) is a Mexican stew which has maize and meat (there are vegetarian was to make pozole as well) and is often topped with raw cut vegetables and seasoned with spices and chilies. There are many ways to make pozole and preparations vary from region to region. While pozole is eaten on regular days, it is often prepared for special occasions.

Enchilada

Enchiladas are wrapped tortillas (de maize/made from corn) that are filled with many different kinds of ingredients, with popular options being meats and potatoes, They then have Sauses poured onto them and can be topped with cheese and vegetables. They are eaten often and are important to Mexican street food culture.

Arroz (Mexican/red rice)

Mexican rice (commonly just called arroz which mean “rice”) is eaten very often as it goes along with any food you can find and is more of a side dish if anything. Arroz is made of rice with vegetables and tomatoes (which are what gives the red/golden color). Arroz can be easily made in large batches which make it good for any occasion where many people need to be feed as it goes with many different Mexican foods. Even this blog has a page on how to make Arroz!
