In Korea, almost all of the groups debut through tv shows, they are shows where they take traniees and make them perform and elimate them until the number needed for that certain group are left and create a group with the top trainees. Normally the judges are idols, producer, or cherographers, and usually the guest teachers are normally idols who are currently in the industry. Most of these shows also have fan voting where fans can vote for their favorites and normally the top trainees in the vote get some advantage.
I-Land
Enhypen debuted through the show I-land, it was a show where 27 current belift trainees were picked to have the chance to debut. Their were two parts to I-land, where were “I-land” and “Ground”. Ground people where the lower half of the trainees, and they didnt have as many luxuries as the people in the I-land. I-land people got lots of stuff and had more luxeries, like they got family calls, got to go out for a day, and lots of snacks and things like that. Many popular idols visted during the show to encouarge and train the trainees, they include BTS and Seventeen.
I watched the show when it was airing and it is interesting to see these trainees train their singing and dancing to become better and get to debut. At the end the top 7 were the seven boys we saw debut as Enhypen (Jake, Jay, Sunghoon, Jungwon, Heeseseung, Ni-ki, Sunoo).
ENHYPEN&HI
This is a reality tv show that is based all around them, and shows their life for a period of time, their are two seasons. The first season happened right after their win on I-land, and the second season showed them doing on a trip.
Right after they won they had a reality show, which started as soon as the I-land ended you see them right after they won, and shows they going to their dorm for the first time. And it just shows the process they had from winning the competition to making their debut. The first season showed everything that lead up to their debut, them getting to know each other and becoming a family. It also showed all of the work and dedication that lead up to the debut, such as singing rehearsals, dance rehearsals, and big group decisions. Such as fan names, the leader of the group and stuff like that.
