Accra will always be home. Even after leaving the city for over seven years and counting, like many others, the plan is to always return. Almost yearly I make sure to travel back no matter the cost to give myself a break from life. Over there, school and work do not matter. It’s more about community and having solitude safe enough to be yourself away from the norm. There you can escape and embrace culture, and tradition, and live life the way it was meant to with enjoyment.
