The Nature

(2021, Santa Theresa Hot Springs)

There are a lot of natural beauties and historical landmarks that El Salvador has to show off, one of which being the Santa Theresa Hot Springs. This hot spring is right along the border of El Salvador and Guatemala so it might be some ways out, but is very worth the scenery. Santa Theresa provided around 5 pools that you can choose from and also has onsite hotels rooms so you won’t have to travel far. Personally, the first time I went was in 2023 with my 82 year old grandma who normally has a bit of trouble walking around without help. After being the in the Hot Spring for about 30 minutes she was already walking and moving way fast than I had seen her in the past five years. It provided a real sense of relaxation and helped with mobility for my grandma.

(July 2023, Parque Nacional El Boqueron)

Another place to visit is El Boqueron National Park which shows on the biggest craters in El Salvador. Seeing the crater requires a little bit of hiking, but nothing over 20 minutes and that allows you to see from the highest point. It is right next to the San Salvador volcano and along that way they have restaurants and vendors so you can fully experience being at the national park. From other views along the trail you are also able to see Lake Ilopango, and the Chinchontepec volcano while enjoying a nice meal.
