Penne alla Vodka

Ingredients

  • 2 spoons of Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes
  • ½ cup chopped fresh basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup vodka
  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 1 pint heavy cream

Cooking Steps 

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook garlic in olive oil until tender for about 1 to 2 minutes.

  2. Then, stir in the tomatoes, but make sure to break it up a bit with a fork.

  3. Next, stir in basil, salt, and pepper and simmer 15 minutes.

  4. At this time, you’re going to stir in the vodka and cook 15 minutes more.

  5. On the side, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente and then drain the pasta.

  6. Stir cream into sauce and let it cook 10 minutes more. Finally, toss with hot pasta.
