The Culture

El Salvador has a lot of Native American and Latin American cultures mixed together as Mestizo people make up 86.3% of the population. Spanish is the most commonly spoken language in El Salvador, but they do have smaller tribes that speak Caliche and Nawat. The Roman Catholic Church is the most popular church in the nation which Christianity following right behind that. The Roman Catholic Church’s influence shows in a lot of its building, artwork and any neighboring church buildings. When visiting the popular cities, there will be a lot of amazing and historical architecture waiting for you to explore. Speaking of the artwork, it usually consists of  of showing the village life in more rural areas. More vibrant colors are used and has a similar style to street art in busier cities which is also very popular. (July 2023, Parque Nacional El Boqueron)

It seems as though whatever hardships the people of El Salvador has gone through, their attitude has always stayed positive and hopeful. That can be shown in their art work, their personalities, and their faith. They’ve always know of the beauties El Salvador had to offer, but it was always tainted by the dangers others had threaten in years past. Now, the culture amongst Salvadorans is ready to be shared with anyone and they have really accepted everyone, tourist or not, with open arms.
